Everything You’ve
Ever Wondered
FAQs
I don’t know how to play chess. Is that okay?
Yes! We actually prefer non-chess players. The Story Time Learning curriculum will handle all the heavy lifting. All we ask is that you are a great storyteller and engaging with little ones. You will learn chess gradually, just like your students!
Do you come to the school?
No, this program is entirely managed by your staff and administrative team. By simply watching our micro-training videos and using our Story Time Poster Guides, you will be ready to teach chess in under 10 minutes!
What is this?
Story Time Learning is an educational curriculum designed to engage kids in learning in a fun and interactive way. We use the power of stories to introduce complex subjects, reinforce learning through games, and encourage family engagement to enhance the experience. We believe that learning is most effective when it’s enjoyable!
Do the kids watch videos?
No! Story Time Learning promotes time away from screens. Only teachers are required to view screens, and that too for no more than 5 minutes before a lesson. All our lessons include story time, physical movement, and gameplay, encouraging children to engage in face-to-face interaction.
What do we get?
If your school subscribes to the annual $2,500 plan, you will receive a welcome kit that includes:
- Access to the Story Time Learning Platform
- 2 copies of Story Time Chess
- 4 vinyl tournament chess sets—indestructible and easy to clean
- Module 1 and 2 Poster Guides
- 24 Module 1 and 24 Module 2 Chess Journals
Are there materials for kids to take home?
Although we encourage keeping the materials in the classroom, several educators choose to send chess journals home. Parents love seeing their children enjoying and learning chess!
How much does it cost?
It’s $25 per student per year for locations with 1-99 children, and $2,500 per year for schools with 99+ children.
Is this a one-time fee?
Access to Story Time Learning is an annual subscription. Each year, a $500 credit is applied to your account to replenish physical products (Poster Guides, Chess Journals, etc.) OR to access new curriculum.
